Djana En and Crystania
Djana En and Crystania are a large continent far to the south of Lodoss. The two halves of these continents are separated by a narrow, winding isthmus and an enormous wall called the Rampart of the Gods. All that is known about Djana En and Crystania come from rumors and lore, and even that is only available to scholars and mages. There have been no transoceanic voyages between Lodoss and Djana En since the Kingdom of Kastuul. Ashram led the people of Marmo on an exodus to the south, hoping to find land, and did indeed find Crystania. The Marmo fleet was allowed to pass through the Rampart of the Gods, but not leave.
According to legend, near the end of the War of the Gods, several of the gods, including Barbas, fled to the southern continent. As they were hunted by the drake Augosu, they abandoned their godly bodies and took on the bodies of beasts. When Augosu came searching for them, they sealed him away and erected a great barrier, known as the Rampart of the Gods, to separate the northern half of the continent, which became Crystania. Crystania is ruled by Cycles, set out by the new pantheon of gods. Each god also rules over a tribe of humans. Whichever god these people worship, they have the ability to shapeshift into that god's patron beast.
Djana En is a land much like Lodoss, and is completely cut off from the gods and Cycles of Crystania. The people of Djana En worship the same gods as are worshiped on Lodoss and Alecrast. In the future presented by the Legend of Crystania series, Djana En was a nation unto its own, but it is unknown if Djana En is currently one nation, or several in this time period.
